Summer always feels like it’s supposed to be full…full of plans, full of people, full of pressure to “make the most of it.” This year, I’m doing things a little differently. I made a list, not of things I should do, but things I actually want to do. Things that feel intentional, fun, slow, grounding…maybe some things that should be on my to do list. Just small joys, seasonal moments, and a few reminders that summer is allowed to be soft.
Read The Artist's Way - I saw Dianna Cohen of Crown Affair reading this and was inspired
Try Forest Bathing – I’ve got a session scheduled with a guide who actually specializes in it… who knew? Stay tuned. (Forrest Bathing, aka shinrin-yoku in Japanese) It is the simple practice of immersing yourself in nature — walking slowly, breathing deeply, and engaging your senses. It’s less about hiking and more about being. My therapist told me it’s not only great for stress but great for people with ADHD (aka Steve).
Social Cleanse - 48 hours off social bc i need it
Eat Tomato Pie - my favorite treat of Summer! Southern Baked Pie has a delicious one. Hen Mother Cookhouse makes one for a special. Follow her to know when.
Quarterly Scrub at Spaland - the best Korean Spa in Atlanta
Go to the new headspa - my favorite Mer Aqua Head Spa just had a huge reno and it looks GORG!
Hike Tallulah Falls - bc Jack needs to forest bathe too
Have a picnic in Piedmont Park with Jacky
Sit by the pool ALONE - self explanatory
Bell Street Burrito Saturday - its just been too long! We need to take Jack!
Take more walks with friends - I walk alone often which is nice but I miss my friends!
Actually take my photos to get developed - so many disposable cameras so little time
Sign up for golf lessons - it’s been over a year since I took my last lesson and need to refine my swing just a bit
2x a month, pickleball date - bc date night can be active and fun with a side margarita
Cut back on eating out, like seriously cut back - maybe make my sexy summer salad every week.
Swim in the ocean without extensions - riveting, I know.
Make more smoothies
Host a Matcha Morning – Invite friends, make it fun
That’s mine! Now tell me yours. What’s on your Summer Bucketlist?
